Tokyo for Thanksgiving

I was able to make a trip to Tokyo over Thanksgiving weekend and I can tell you it was well worth it!  Tokyo was very impressive.  The city is absolutely huge, well organized (to the point where I felt like I was in Germany, lol) and remarkably clean.  The metro was extremely useful when trying to get around town.  Fortunately the hotel I stayed at was right around the corner from a metro stop, which made it exceptionally easy to get anywhere in Tokyo.

Below are some views from my hotel room:

Had some fun walking along the Ginza Shopping District area:

There is nothing that says Japanese nearly as much as Green Tea Ice Cream:

There are Shrines galore for you to go and visit.  They are all very beautifully done and are gorgeous on the inside.  Unfortunately, they do not allow you to take photos on the inside of the shrines.  Below are some photos of the shrines I visited:

Taal Volcano & Lake / The Pink Sisters

Went to Tagaytay which with traffic is about a 2 hour drive from Manila.  From here I was able to get a boat ride to Taal Volcano.  The scenery itself was just amazing:

And once we got to the top the views were incredible!

Can't go swimming in here as the water is at boiling temps from being on top of the volcano.

The white in the middle of this photo is steam coming from the volcano.

Views from the boat ride back:

On the way back to Makati City we stopped by the Adoration Chapel, home to the Pink Sisters.  Nun's who where pink robes instead of the traditional white or black.  Never figured out why they wear the pink robes, but it was pretty neat:
